The Clearfield County Amateur Radio Club is pleased to announce that it is now affiliated with the national American Radio Relay League (ARRL).

The process to become ARRL Affiliated took twenty months to complete, but CCARC officials were rewarded with approval of the application.

On Tuesday March 17th 2015 CCARC officials were notified in an e-mail from Tom Abernethy, Atlantic Division Director for the ARRL, that the ARRL Executive Committee “has approved the Clearfield County Amateur Radio Club for ARRL affiliation.”  Abernethy then offered his congratulations to all members of CCARC.

Affiliation with the ARRL provides the Clearfield County Amateur Radio Club with many benefits including mailing lists, discounted equipment insurance, club emails, club call signs, and much more.  Affiliation also signifies the level of dedication and drive the club has as members explore the art of radio communications and new technologies.  The ARRL has been at the leading edge of communications technology since its founding in 1914.  With the ARRL’s guidance, the local Clearfield County Amateur Radio Club is looking forward to future developments in  communications technologies as well as participating in regional ARRL sponsored events and activities.

The process of affiliation with the ARRL was started at the club’s founding in July 2013.  The process of becoming affiliated involves a three level review process that becomes final after approval by the ARRL’s Executive Committee.

CCARC officials are expecting to receive the club’s ARRL Affiliation Charter in the next several weeks.  For further information about the Clearfield County Amateur Radio Club, or the recent affiliation with the ARRL, individuals are asked to contact the club President, Mr. Garry Byers KC3BRQ by using the “Contact Us” form elsewhere on this web site.
